Leveraging CLAS Webinar

In anticipation of the upcoming health insurance enrollment period, the Heartland RHEC hosted the October 21 webinar "Leveraging CLAS" in partnership with the REACH Healthcare Foundationand the Mid-America Regional Council of greater Kansas City; designed to help navigators, certified application counselors, and others effectively work with culturally and linguistically diverse populations. Speakers C. Godfrey Jacobs and Darci L. Graves from SRA International explored the ways in which theNational Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in Health and Health Care(National CLAS Standards) provide a blueprint for organizations to help them meet their health equity goals such as structuring outreach activities and services, establishing trusting relationships, and overcoming language and literacy barriers.
