Sarena Dacus, MPH
Executive Director

Sarena Dacus is the Executive Director of FAMILY, Inc. FAMILY, Inc. provides public health and family support services to women, children, and families in Southwest Iowa. She is actively involved in various public health efforts at the local level, including the Heartland 2050 Equity and Engagement Committee and the Metropolitan Child Advocacy Council’s Prevention Committee Leadership Team.

Ms. Dacus’s other key roles include the Marketing and Public Relations Chair for the Community Wellness Bash; a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; and a Child Passenger Safety Technician certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. She also has completed the Technology of Participation® Facilitation Methods training course and has led and facilitated events for multiple community organizations across the Omaha metropolitan area.

Ms. Dacus is a graduate scholar of the Great Plains Leadership Institute and currently participates in the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands Executive Institute. She earned a BA psychology from St. Louis University and an MPH from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She was certified as a parent educator in 2014 through Parents as Teachers. She and her husband RaShad are the proud parents of Emery and Everett.
