Doris Lassiter is president and CEO of Doris Lassiter Consulting, LLC, has extensive experience in policy, programming, and administration associated with chronic disease prevention and racial and ethnic health disparities programming. She is the Health Ministry Director of the New Era Baptist State Convention of Nebraska. With over 8,000 members, New Era is the largest African American grassroots organization in the State of Nebraska. As former contracting director of the Satellite Office of Minority Health in Omaha and President of the Nebraska Minority Public Health Association, Mrs. Lassiter has the trust of the community and health organizations. She has promoted chronic disease prevention in African-American faith-based organizations in local partnerships with Douglas County Health Department, Creighton University REACH project, and nationally with the National Baptist Convention, and the University of Alabama and Birmingham Churches located in the Stroke Belt of the South. Utilizing the intervention of health ministries in over thirty (30) churches to promote chronic disease prevention, churches serve as a strategic vehicle to recruit participants and disseminate results in a comprehensive and culturally competent manner to the African American community.

Mrs. Lassiter is an active member of the Creighton Center for Promoting Health and Health Equality (CPHHE) boards for many years, Mrs. Lassiter currently serves as Chairwoman for the Community Partners, Executive Committee, and Research Committee, and is a member of the Community-Academic Partnership.
