Catherine Davis is Director of the UAW-Ford Community Health Care Initiative in Kansas City and President/CEO of the Kansas City Quality Improvement Consortium (KCQIC). Both organizations work with community stakeholders to improve the quality and value of care in the Greater Kansas City bi-state region. She worked in ICU/CCU before joining Ford Motor Company's Kansas City Assembly Plant Medical Department in 1985. She was appointed Director of the UAW-Ford Community Health Care Initiative in 1998. She was instrumental in the establishment of KCQIC, worked with stakeholders to establish the organization as the primary resource for quality and quality improvement, and played a key role in KCQIC’s success.

Dr. Davis is extremely active in the Greater Kansas City bi-state community to improve the quality of care and self-management. She served as the Project Director for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation “Aligning Forces for Quality Grant” in Kansas City; Director of the Kansas/Missouri Chartered Value Exchange; and Project Director of the Community-Based Care Transitions Program funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Her leadership as co-founder and chair of the Kansas City Health Commission has allowed the organization to sustain its progress and become a major influence in the Kansas City area to improve health and reduce disparities.

Dr. Davis has contributed her expertise as a previous chair or member of several advisory bodies: Missouri Consensus of Need Committee; Missouri State Asthma Coalition; Kansas City Chronic Disease Coalition; Kansas and Missouri Health Information Exchange Advisory Board; Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Health Council; Truman Medical Center Diabetes Advisory Board; and Kansas University’s “Frontiers: The Heartland Institute for Clinical and Translational Research Community Engagement Community Partnership for Health.” She is a current member of the Blue Ribbon Committee for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. The goal of this group is to provide a forum for physicians and payers to collaborate on standardized quality measures to improve disparities in health.

Dr. Davis graduated from Research School of Nursing in Kansas City, Missouri in 1974. She received a BS in nursing from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa in 1991. She received an MS with a minor in nursing practitioner from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York in 1997. She received a PhD in community health from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2004. She currently is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, American Nurses Association, American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, and United Auto Workers Local 249 Nursing Unit.
